Wavelength is looking for a Consultant Anaesthetist who wants to take on an exciting role in a regional setting in New South Wales. Reporting to the Director of Anaesthesia and to the Director of Medical Services you will work in partnership with the other anaesthetists and staff offering a high standard of care to all patients. You will demonstrate customary clinical duties, such as the organisation of pre-anaesthesia assessment clinics in preparation of surgery, overseeing patients in the post-anaesthesia care unit and offering appropriate post-operative care with special consideration to acute pain. In addition to this, you will provide the delivery of acute resuscitation for all emergencies. You will be offering your knowledge and skills when supervising anaesthesia trainees and other staff.
This unique facility offers the largest regional health care services, supporting an outer catchment population covering Southern NSW and North-East Victoria. Anaesthetics services play a significant role at this 155-bed hospital with eight operating theatres and a newly appointed endoscopy suite that covers trauma, elective and emergency surgery, pre-admissions and acute pain services. All of the communities needs are met by the 200 volunteers and in excess of 1,700 staff members. This medium sized, modern facility is the designated regional trauma centre and has strong relations to public hospitals, rehabilitation centres and mental health services. The hospital in question has a range of comprehensive training programs to offer with a positive focus on employee growth.

The successful candidate will be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetist and be eligible for full registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
