What qualifications do you need to work as a Paediatrician in Australia and New Zealand?
In Australia and New Zealand, the Specialist qualification is Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). If your training program is comparable to the RACP training program in terms of content, duration, governance, and assessment, you may be able to apply for Specialist Assessment in Australia or Vocational registration in New Zealand. International qualifications that are often deemed comparable include:
- UK/Ireland – MRACP combined with the CCT (or CCST or JCHMT as appropriate)
- Canada – Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Canada
- USA – Dual Board-Certified physicians.
