As a General Medicine Consultant you will utilise your clinical knowledge, proficiency, skills and experience in assessment, investigation, diagnosis and treatment of patients. You will provide a high-quality clinical service and be actively involved in teaching and research programmes.Your duties will encompass consultation services for in-patients of GPs and other specialists, managing patients admitted to HDU and medical uptransfers from smaller hospitals within the catchment areas, teaching medical students and trainee medical officers. Acting as a positive role model and mentor, you will support education of health professionals and encourage and support team work for optimal clinical service outcomes. In addition to conducting and supporting research within the Region, you will provide expert advice for internal and external committees and workgroups as requested.     The Hospital One of four designated general hospitals in Country South Australia, this hospital is a major regional health provider. The hospital comprises 73 inpatient beds, 20 day surgery beds/chairs, an eight bed high dependency unit and a level two-neonate nursery. It provides a wide range of services using local general practitioners, resident specialists, visiting specialists, and telemedicine.
