== The Position == Wavelength is seeking a Specialist Anaesthetist for a full-time position in a Queensland public hosptial. Ideally you will have the ability to direct the process of assessment, admission, ongoing care, transfer and discharge of patients. You will have leadership skills and proven commitment to leading and participating in an education program for clinical staff. You will be working closely with the Director of Anaesthesia to ensure that Anaesthesia services provided are of the highest standard and delivered in a reliable and cost effective manner given available resources.   The Hospital                                        This state of the art hospital offers a wide range of medical services to a population of about 230,000. The Hospital has 305 beds and is one of the main referral hospital for Central QLD. It has 4 operating theatres and 2 procedure rooms. They have a separate physician-run ICU/HDU. The Anaesthetics Department covers obstetrics, gynaecology, orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, gastroenterology and dental procedures. The Department runs a pre-admission clinic and acute pain rounds and is accredited for teaching and research. == The Location == Situated half way between Brisbane and Townsville, this town is only a short drive to the pristine beaches and national parklands of Queensland. The town has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and offers plenty of activities to keep you and your family entertained; including museums, botanical gardens, a crocodile farm and a local zoo. The beach is perfect for snorkelling, scuba diving and boating.  Locally there are four shopping centres. The region is well served by both private and public schools, including several for boarders.
