An exciting opportunity has become available for an Orthopaedic Surgeon to join this fantastic team of specialists to assist with cover for a fixed period of time in a picturesque city on the north island of New Zealand. The department are flexible on dates and period of cover for the right candidate. A strong cultural emphasis underpins all that this service does, you will be motivated to contribute to service developments and quality improvement projects along with undertaking your clinical duties. The department is presented with a diverse range of presentations, it is essential to this role to have excellent communication and professional skills, together with the ability to work within a small team.
This opportunity is based in a 110 bed well-equipped secondary hospital with modern facilities, caring for a close-knit, multicultural community of 46,000 people. The hospital offers a range of service – Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Medicine, Pathology and Emergency, as well as allied health services. There is also established networks for clinical backup and tertiary support from the surrounding hospitals. The department is well supported locally by comprehensive surgical services, and has a full range of diagnostic facilities on site including a new MRI scanner, CT scanner and 24 hour on-site laboratory facilities.
