== The Position == An opportunity is available for an enthusiastic Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialist who is ready to join a service that is going through an incredible journey of growth and change. In this role, you will be interested in teaching and training as the service strives to improve training for both undergraduates and RANZCOG trainees.  You must be committed to patient centered care, flexible in your approach and be willing to contribute positively to a service undergoing transformation. The Hospital This modern regional hospital is one of New Zealand?s largest tertiary and secondary healthcare providers with over 600 beds and provides local services for a population of 375,000 and tertiary services for a region of 900,000. Within the district, there are approximately 5,500 deliveries per year, with this service having 3,500 of these deliveries. Facilities include a 7 bed delivery suite, 2 high dependency beds, a women's acute assessment unit, antenatal, postnatal and gynaecological inpatient wards, a dedicated outpatients service and modern theatres. The current team consists of 12 consultants, 12 registrars and 8 senior house officers.  This hospital is a full-service facility offering specialised medical care, and the full complement of emergency services. The hospital is the main trauma facility for the area, and close connection to road and air transport allow patient-hospital transport in less than an hour from any place in the region. == The Location == This hospital is located on the North Island in the largest inland and the fastest growing city of New Zealand. Subspecialty training or experience will be advantageous but not essential. You must also meet the English language proficiency requirements.
