== The Position == As a General Medicine Registrar you will be available immediately to join a well-established hospital and welcoming team of healthcare professionals.  In this position you will be responsible for assessing and managing critically ill patients in the Division of Medicine. You will utilise your medical knowledge to provide exceptional patient care and liaise with colleagues, patients and relatives about the patient?s condition. In addition you will be responsible for the coordination of diagnostic tests and consultations which you will document appropriately. This role will also see you manage patient discharges and rise to the challenge of providing clinical leadership when consultants are not immediately available.   This position offers accredited Basic Training to further develop your career. You will be exposed to a range of therapeutic strategies and specialised investigations that will contribute to your professional development and medical knowledge. The Hospital This Tertiary teaching hospital provides a range of acute services including emergency, maternity, intensive care, general medicine, surgery and mental health. It consists of 160 beds and services a population of approximately 80,000 people. Furthermore, the hospital is affiliated with various established universities for the provision of placements, training and education.   As a Registrar you will be based in the hospital?s Medical Unit, which consists of up to 40 beds with an additional 5 beds in the ICU.  A team of 7 Consultants, 4 interns, 1 HMO and 7 Registrars work in harmony to provide high quality service to patients. The Medical Unit is divided into 4 sectors and run by a Registrar under the supervision of Consultants. As for the ICU, it has recently received a fund of approximately $800,000 to increase critical care capabilities, making this position not one to miss.   == The Location == This desirable location is renowned for its Mediterranean climate with blue skies and sun soaked days.
