== The Position == Wavelength seeks an experienced Executive Director Medical of Services to provide high level medical administration advice and leadership to a large regional local health district in NSW.   This full time, permanent role will see you reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer as part of the senior leadership team.  Your expertise in system-wide medical workforce and clinical governance in a regional setting will be a critical link to patient-centred effective delivery of services.  In addition to an innovative and collaborative approach of medical service leadership; you will be adept at building and maintaining important relationships with key stakeholders within other state agencies and universities.   The Local Health District This Local Health District provides a range of public health services to a catchment population of over 200,000 across an area spanning more than 40,000 square kilometres.  Employing over 1800 staff, the health district delivers medical services to 15 hospital and community centres.   Providing a wide range of services to the community, the health district offers facilities for emergency medicine, general medicine, surgical services, coronary care, obstetrics and gynaecology. Additionally, both acute and sub-acute mental health services are available across the district providing support to a growing population with a wide and varied age span.  Allied health and diagnostic services are also offered onsite, with programs such as brain injury patients and genetic services being available as required ensuring high levels of ongoing patient care are administered across the community.   == The Location == Located in regional NSW, this relaxed community offers a perfect base to explore nearby historic towns or wine trails.  With access to a large and varied terrain ranging from picturesque coastlines to the rugged mountains, there will be no shortage of places to explore during your spare time.  Warm to moderate temperatures year-round provides the perfect climate for enjoying the local cafes, small businesses and heritage-listed natural sights. == The Location == is well known for its outstanding educational options across all levels, including highly regarded tertiary options within driving distance.   Candidate Profile This leadership opportunity will suit an applicant that possesses or is working towards obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA).  Candidates withi specialist medical qualifications in other speciality areas along with extensive clinical leadership experience will also be considered.
