== The Position == Joining as the Director of Emergency Medicine, you will become an integral part of the team as the department continues to development and progress in to a new era. You will assist staff specialists, ACEM trainees and junior staff in a department that has a strong focus on career development and workplace training. Joining the hospital as part of the senior management team, you will ensure the highest professional and safety standards are observed by all medical staff within the multidisciplinary team. By displaying the qualities of respect, politeness and empathy you will involve patients and their carers in the treatment process and will make sure both patients and staff are treated fairly at all times. The Hospital This hospital forms part of the largest health service in Queensland which serves a residential population of around one million people or 23 per cent of Queensland population. Services on offer include general surgery, acute mental health, paediatrics and maternity care along with emergency medicine. In 2012, a multi-million dollar expansion of the emergency and paediatric services saw the addition of a dedicated paediatric emergency waiting and treatment area as well as an extended emergency short stay unit. == The Location == Based along the southeast of the Brisbane metropolitan area, this coastal city offers the best of both worlds. You will have previous management experience as well as 3 years minimum experience as a FACEM.
