The Opportunity Allowing you to break into the highly competitive Sydney market, this exciting opportunity is for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join an expanding Mental Health Service. This role will see you working in an inpatient service and community, as negotiated by the health service.    The Hospital The hospital is a 650-bed teaching hospital and the Emergency Department treats over 54,000 patients annually. It covers a population of approximately 350,000 people.   The Mental Health centre has a 32 bed Acute inpatient psychiatric unit, a 12 bed High Dependency unit and a 12 bed Older Persons Mental Health unit. There is also a 6 bed Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre.   Providing treatment on a short-term basis, the team works in close collaboration with all interface areas including Community Mental Health and Non-Government Organisations (NGOs). It is a multidisciplinary team including Medical, Nursing, Social and Occupational therapists.   == The Location == You will be working/living in one of Australia?s top tourist destinations, with over 3 million visitors per year.
