== The Position == In this role as Staff Specialist General Physician / Gastroenterologist, you will be responsible for assisting the Director in the provision of high-quality clinical services as part of the Department of Medicine, the education of medical staff and students, and the active participation in patient safety, audit, research and service planning activities. You will be working the General Medicine on-call roster, with one Hepatology and two Gastroneterology clinics per week.  Additionally, you would take part in the Endoscopy roster.  The Hospital You will join a $408 million state-of-the art facility with a new emergency department, outpatients department, birth suites and special care nursery, intensive care unit and coronary care unit, day surgery and operating theatre suite, inpatient surgical and medical wards, renal support services, day oncology, dental, allied health and mental health facilities. The hospital provides services to a population of around 180,424 people residing in a 90,000 km2 area. The Health Service provides an integrated approach to service delivery across acute, primary health and other community based services including aged care assessment, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) programs. Primary Health services within the HHS cover a range of program areas including Integrated Mental Health; Integrated Oral Health; Home and Community Care; Mobile Women?s Health; Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs; Sexual Health; Aged Care Assessment Team; and Breast Screen. == The Location == This stunning region is renowned for beautiful beaches, hinterlands and mountains. All denominations and private schools are catered for so that you can choose the best option for your family.  == Essential Criteria == To be successful in applying for this position you must hold FRACP or equivalent (or be close to obtaining your fellowship) and be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. You must also meet the English language proficiency requirements.
