The opportunity This Clinical Director / Medical Director role will see you working in an expanding service where you will have the Blue Mountains on your doorstep! As the Clinical Director you will be expected to contribute to and implement the strategic direction of the Mental Health Service, participate in the Mental Health Executive on Call roster, promote clinical governance accountabilities for medical staff within the Service, ensure development and implementation of local clinical policy to meet clinical needs; manage human, physical and financial resources within the allocated budget. The Hospital: The hospital is a 650-bed teaching hospital and the Emergency Department treats over 54,000 patients annually. It covers a population of approximately 350,000 people. The Mental Health centre has a 32 bed Acute inpatient psychiatric unit, a 12 bed High Dependency unit and a 12 bed Older Persons Mental Health unit. There is also a 6 bed Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre. Providing treatment on a short-term basis, the team works in close collaboration with all interface areas including Community Mental Health and Non-Government Organisations (NGOs). It is a multidisciplinary team including Medical, Nursing, Social and Occupational therapists. == The Location ==: You will be living in one of Australia?s top tourist destinations, with over 3 million visitors per year.
