The Position

The Paediatric Unit is looking for it’s newest team member to join the team and hit the ground running. Your primary focus will be to become an effective team member within the department and provide exceptional patient care. You will be required to work collaboratively with your team members and other clinicians and continue to uphold a patient-centred approach to healthcare. This position will provide the opportunity to train and supervise interns, registrars and other junior medical staff, allowing you to further develop your leadership skills.

The Hospital

You will be joining a hospital that forms part of a health service that is a primary healthcare provider for both the local community and surrounding regions. The hospital provides both acute and aged care services, including a 24/7 emergency department, oncology, operating theatres, and dialysis services. The core services include delivery of Acute Hospital Care, Rehabilitation, Aged Care Services, Outpatient Services, Home Based Services and Community Health. The hospital treats approximately 12,000 acute inpatients and 17,000 Emergency department patients per year. Furthermore, the hospital provides general surgical, medical, obstetrics and gynaecology, urology, ophthalmology, dentistry, endoscopy, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, and paediatric services with visiting sub-specialty services including urology, vascular, ENT, paediatric surgery, upper GI surgery and IVF.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (or assessment by the college that the position holder is suitable for the position).

A primary medical qualification registered or registrable with AHPRA is required.
