The Position
This is an excellent opportunity for a Specialist Anatomical Pathologist, the successful applicant will provide services in the specialty of Anatomical Pathology and Cytopathology including diagnosis, treatment, and care for patients, both inpatient and outpatient. The Anatomical Pathology service covers most specialties except for neurosurgery, cardiothoracic, and gynecology. As a Specialist Anatomical Pathologist, you will assist with the management of patients in consultation with other clinical services, attending inpatient rounds, and consulting clinics as scheduled.
The Hospital
This hospital is the state's second-largest public hospital and has 300 + beds. As a major referral, center for Northern Tasmania the hospital provides acute care, outpatient, community, emergency, intensive care, maternity, special medical, and surgical services. It is an accredited teaching hospital with an association with the local University.
The Pathology Service employs a team of 11 pathologists and 3 registrars, the Anatomical Pathology team comprises of 3-4 specialists and 2 registrars. The lab is a well-resourced, NATA accredited lab supported by well trained staff and experienced medical scientists.

Essential Criteria
To be successful in applying for this position you must hold Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia (FRCPA) and Specialist Registration with AHPRA or hold equivalent specialist qualifications.
