Work on-base at Kapooka within a multidisciplinary team and play an integral part in delivering and maintaining the health and wellbeing of our Army recruits.

About The Role

- Delivering high quality outpatient and inpatient medical care, with a strong focus on Men’s & Women’s Health including Sexual Health, Mental Health, Rehabilitation and performing minor surgical procedures

- Conducting pre and post deployment health check-ups and/or fitness assessments, supporting patients and promoting wellness and healthy living

- Providing medical advice to relevant Unit Commanders and Health Centre Managers, and updating/maintaining accurate patient records on the online health platform

- Responding to medical emergencies and referring patients on to other Medical Specialists and Allied Health services as required

About The Location

Set within the Kapooka Military Area (10 kms South-East of Wagga Wagga), Kapooka Health Centre provides care to more than 5,000 new Army Recruits per year. Equipped with a 50-bed ward that runs 24/7, the Health Centre delivers General Medical, Dental, Nursing, Mental Health & Psychology, Physiotherapy and Pharmacy services, operating between the hours of 0730-1530, Mondays to Fridays. Attached to the Health Centre is Kapooka Clinic, which provides standard medical appointments from 0630-1800, Mondays to Fridays and 0630-1430 on Saturdays.

About You

- FRACGP/FACRRM or Vocational Registration + full AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner

- Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience as a GP in a private practice/outpatient setting

- Evidence of recent participation in CPD and a current CPR Certificate

- Self-starter who is collaborative, with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
