For an ENT Surgeon or Specialist considering an exciting and rewarding career change, life just doesn’t get much better than this. And with South West Healthcare and St John of God (SJOG) Victoria looking to appoint a broad-spectrum ENT surgeon to work across both public and private settings, now’s the time to apply.

Only three hours from Melbourne on the stunning Great Ocean Road, Warrnambool is one of regional South West Victoria’s hidden gems. With a population of just over 35,000, this coastal city is best known for its beautiful surroundings, quality education services and communal outdoors lifestyle.

Dr Clancy in Action

Dr Clancy notes South West Healthcare & SJOG have all the resources needed to maintain a world-class ENT practice.

World-class regional general ENT facilities

Join Dr Bridget Clancy, one of Warrnambool’s most well-respected surgeons at a newly re-developed Hospital. Dr Clancy agrees there’s never been a more exciting time to practice in the area.

“South West Healthcare and SJOG have all the human and physical resources we need to maintain a world-class regional general ENT practice.” says Dr Clancy.

“We have access to an effective emergency department at the new Warrnambool Hospital with an excellent paediatric medical and nursing team, an efficient day surgery, and short stay surgical wards with a team of skilled nurses. Not only that, but we’re lucky to have several anaesthetists skilled in paediatric anaesthesia.” she explains.

“We also have two surgical campuses, with recently upgraded sinonasal and otologic surgical instruments, an efficient elective surgery booking team and a small, well trained and engaged group of ENT surgical nurses. And there’s also a high standard of both public and private speech therapy services across the region.”

Well-established, well-equipped private practice

Established in 2005, Dr Clancy’s private practice has three consulting rooms, an endoscope room, a dedicated ENT clinical nurse specialist and administrative staff, all of which would be shared with the new surgeon. She says the region needs ENT surgeons with the ability to work independently and with integrity, across a broad range of general ENT problems in children and adults.

“Safety, quality and integrity are core to the way I manage my practice to make sure our services are as effortless, stress-free and effective as possible for all our patients. Ultimately, we’re looking for a skilled ENT Surgeon who shares these values, who has boundless energy and an ability to engage staff to form effective teams.” she says.

“We’re looking for someone who’s altruistic, with a desire to improve the health and quality of life of people in our region through their direct consulting and operating efforts. Someone who’s open to new ways of doing things or improving existing processes, particularly in providing excellent care with efficiency. A commitment to continuous learning and growth is also essential.”

Generous salary package, genuine work life balance

The new ENT surgeon will be able to choose a generous salary package or charge a fee for service. And with no up-front expenses, Dr Clancy’s well-established practice is ready for the right person to hit the ground running.

“Our philosophy is that work is a part of a person’s life, not the whole of it. When the whole person is thriving, the quality of care they provide to their patients is optimal. A surgeon settling in Warrnambool will have the ability to set their own working hours and schedule, balancing time at work with time to devote to health, family and other pursuits.” she says.
