Albury is the biggest of the two hospitals, the ED consists of 12 beds, 2 Resus beds and a 4 bed short stay unit. Wodonga is a 12 bed ED with 2 Resus beds. Across both facilities the ED has around 80,000 presentations annually with 25% paeds presentations
Accommodation is provided. Albury airport is a 1hr flight from Sydney or Melbourne. 3.5hr drive from Melbourne, 5.5hr drive from Sydney.
You must have General Registration with AHPRA.
Albury Wodonga Health have specific hospital paperwork which must be completed. A NCRC & NSW/VIC WWCC is also required, which can be applied for online.
- Registered with AHPRA as a Specialist with FRACGP or FACRRM or recognition by AHPRA of overseas qualification and registered with AHPRA as a Specialist GP - Recent Australian/New Zealand experience in Emergency Medicine. Evidence of current competence in the management of life threatening emergencies.
Senior Medical Registrar
-PGY6 or higher with a total of more than 3 completed full-time years of Australian/New Zealand experience at Registrar level in emergency medicine. Evidence of current competence in the management of life threatening emergencies.
- Provide evidence of current ED CME (within the last 3 years) in at least one of the following courses:
ALS2, EMST, CEMP, ELS, REACT, ATLS, REST, or alternatively a recent report from a FACEM that up-skilling and current practice is suitable to their scope or completion of any other recognised emergency medicine courses within the triennium assessed by the Medical Director as being equivalent in total to one of the courses mentioned above.
- Required to manage emergency presentations.
