GP VMO - capable of managing approx. 15 presentations daily. Max 10 inpatients, average 5 daily. Must have completed eMeds training.
Experience: Emergency, Trauma, Basic Life Support, Simple suturing, ECG interpretation, Catheterisation, sound clinical judgement and communicate appropriately.
On-call requirements: You will be the sole Doctor on call 24/7. There is an expectation that you review all cases in-person throughout the day. Overnight (from 8pm) you are expected to review Category 1, 2s and 3s in-person.
VRGS will cover daily from 2200-0800 for CAT 4 & 5s. Should a Registered Nurse require you to attend, you will be required to do so regardless of Triage Category.
On-call will also require you to attend inpatients that are deteriorating. Fatigue breaks if required are to be discussed prior to taking any break with the Health Service Manager. Please note support is available via vCare in emergency situations should you require additional support.
Hours required to be on-site: 8am ward rounds, followed by ED reviews etc - finish time to be negotiated with site. Must return to hospital when called for ALL Triage categories
Type of Doctor required: GP VMO with Emergency Skills. Must be able to conduct Adult Intubations. Cover ED and Ward. Medicare Provider number requirements: Refer and Request is OK.
Information on site: Coonabarabran has 10 inpatient beds and ED. 2 RN and 1 EEN on rostered on morning and afternoon shifts with 1 RN and 1 EEN at night. Support also available via vCare and local VMO.
Accommodation details: Hospital accommodation - 2 bed self-contained flat (when available) or basic motel/hotel style room with shared cooking and laundry facilities.
Travel and Car Hire:will be booked by Wavelength or reimbursed to Locum
