The Position

We are seeking an experienced Obstetrics & Gynaecology Consultant to provide specialist care to both public and private patients in a regional setting. You will deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient care, contribute to surgical lists and participate in an on-call roster. This role also includes teaching and mentoring junior medical staff, registrars and medical students, as well as involvement in research and quality improvement initiatives. You will operate with clinical autonomy under limited supervision, collaborating with colleagues across the hospital, and contributing to the organisation’s quality, safety and professional development programs. The Hospital

The main referral centre for Northwest Tasmania provides comprehensive maternity, gynaecology, and surgical services. The hospital now offers services in medical, surgical, and allied health specialties through inpatient and outpatient departments, as well as catering for the emergency resuscitation, surgery and intensive care of most trauma patients and other medical conditions. Essential criteria

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with AHPRA.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent.
• Eligible for registration as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Medical Board of Australia.
