The Position
An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Obstetrics & Gynaecology Consultant to join a collaborative health service providing care across Central Queensland. In this role, you will deliver high-quality elective and emergency care and contribute to surgical lists and lead specialised clinics. You will also play a key role in teaching and mentoring registrars, rural generalists, GP obstetricians, and medical students within an accredited RANZCOG training program. This position offers the chance to contribute to the ongoing development of women’s health services across Central Queensland, making a meaningful impact on both local and rural communities.
The Hospital
As the main referral centre for Central Queensland, this facility supports over 1,200 births annually and offers level 5 laparoscopic and major gynaecological surgical services. The hospital provides twelve to fourteen operating theatre lists per fortnight and runs daily antenatal and gynaecology clinics, alongside specialised services in uro-gynaecology and Indigenous women’s health. With a strong focus on clinical excellence, education and patient-centred care, the service provides opportunities for professional growth, leadership, research, and service development within a supportive and multidisciplinary environment.

Essential criteria
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with AHPRA.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent.
- Eligible for registration as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Medical Board of Australia.
