The Position
An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced and visionary Clinical Director - Obstetrics & Gynaecology to join a progressive regional health service committed to excellence in women’s health. In this key leadership role, you will oversee the delivery, development, and governance of high-quality obstetric and gynaecological services across a diverse network of hospital and community facilities throughout Central Queensland. You will provide strategic and clinical leadership within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, ensuring safe, contemporary and patient-centred care. The Clinical Director will maintain a minimum of 0.5 FTE in clinical duties, while also driving innovation, workforce development and continuous quality improvement across the service. This position is ideally suited to a senior specialist seeking to combine hands-on clinical practice with leadership, education, and service transformation within a dynamic and supportive regional network.
The Hospital
As the main referral centre for Central Queensland, this facility supports over 1,200 births annually and offers level 5 laparoscopic and major gynaecological surgical services. The hospital provides twelve to fourteen operating theatre lists per fortnight and runs daily antenatal and gynaecology clinics, alongside specialised services in uro-gynaecology and Indigenous women’s health. With a strong focus on clinical excellence, education and patient-centred care, the service provides opportunities for professional growth, leadership, research, and service development within a supportive and multidisciplinary environment.

Essential criteria
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with AHPRA.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent.
- Eligible for registration as a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, service development, and multidisciplinary team management.
