On call to assist in the event of an overwhelming emergency. May be required to assist in emergency theatre cases. Narrabri District Health Service is searching for experienced GP ED VMOs to provide exceptional care in this vibrant rural community. With a 28-bed inpatient unit that includes Obstetrics, a busy Emergency Department managing 12-25 presentations daily, and an Operating Theatre, you'll enjoy a diverse and rewarding clinical experience. Shifts run for 12 hours, either 0700-1900 or 1900-0700, depending on GP availability (Supported by the local GP when available) and whether the theatre is in use. Locums are also required to be available for second on-call during the opposite 12-hour shift, but this will only apply if critically needed. Emergency surgical assistance may also be required. On-call is included in the flat rate, with no additional payments. Nestled in the scenic Northwest Slopes region, Narrabri offers a charming blend of country hospitality and outdoor adventure.
