The Practice

This friendly and laid-back practice consists of two GP partners plus regular locum, three practice nurses, one practice manager, three receptionists and the visiting dermatologist comes once month. The practice itself is equipped with nine consulting rooms, one treatment room, five nurses’ rooms, office and staffroom.

The clinic is open 8am to 6pm and doctors generally work a flexible 8-hour day . On call is very minimal and not at all. Appointments are set at 15-minute intervals which is really manageable and will ensure you are not overloaded. This is a laid-back team who like to get the job done but enjoy life at the same time. The Location

The town is Located 90 kilometres north of Wellington and 50 kilometres south of Palmerston North with a population around 20,000. This town serves the local agricultural community and also has a thriving clothing industry, so is known as a factory outlet shopping destination. With the Tasman Sea coast on one side and the Tararua Ranges on the other, the area offers a wide range of outdoor adventures. Several different schools are available, and the weather is great!

Essential Criteria

In order to be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a GP, you must have worked at least 36 months of the past 48 months in a comparable health system, or you will need to hold suitable postgraduate qualifications and have worked at least 24 months of the past 36 months in a comparable health system.
