The Position

An opportunity is available for a Consultant in General Medicine to deliver contemporary, comprehensive specialist care across a regional health service. The role focuses on achieving optimal patient outcomes through high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting a healthy community. You will provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team, contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives, and supervise and educate junior clinicians across multiple disciplines. The position also requires effective use of health information systems, clear clinical documentation and strong communication with patients, families, and stakeholders to ensure safe, coordinated and effective care.

Essential criteria

• Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Physician, including eligibility via overseas trained specialist pathways.
• Demonstrated experience providing General Medicine services at the appropriate level.
• Commitment to quality improvement, multidisciplinary teamwork, and education of junior clinicians.
