The Position

An exciting opportunity exists for a Consultant with expertise in dual General Medicine and subspecialty. This 0.5 FTE General Medicine and 0.5 FTE subspecialty role is focused on delivering safe, effective, evidence-based, and patient-centred care to inpatients across general wards, ICU, HDU, and the Emergency Department. You will actively participate in the General Medicine on-call roster and provide leadership in the care of complex patients, liaising with tertiary centres for specialist referrals. Subspecialty services include Cardiology, Pulmonology, Geriatric Medicine, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Oncology, and Rehabilitation. Telehealth is widely used, with selected cases referred to tertiary centres. Join a multidisciplinary team offering inpatient and outpatient care, procedural work, and teaching opportunities, with strong university affiliations supporting medical education.

Essential criteria

  • Primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent specialist qualification in General Medicine.
  • Additional subspecialty recognition in Cardiology, Geriatrics, Endocrinology, or Gastroenterology is favourable.
  • Relevant experience providing consultant-level medical services in a base hospital or tertiary referral hospital setting.
