The Position
We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join Older Persons Mental Health Services in a permanent Staff Specialist role (Classification: Staff Specialist 1–5 / Senior Specialist). The role involves specialist assessment, treatment and ongoing management of older adults with severe mental illness, functional impairment and complex needs across both inpatient and community settings. You will contribute to multidisciplinary care, clinical governance and service development within a recovery-focused framework.
The position also includes teaching, supervision and active participation in an academic environment, with potential for a conjoint academic appointment. You will play a key role in governance, quality improvement and service development activities.

Essential criteria
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent.
- Eligibility for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Advanced training in Psychiatry of Old Age (or equivalent specialist experience).
