The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for Psychiatrists to join a major mental health and Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) service in Far North Queensland. You will provide high‑quality psychiatric assessment, treatment and clinical leadership across inpatient, community and outreach settings.

Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will help shape service delivery, support local clinicians, and contribute to improving mental health outcomes across a broad geographical region. The service values community engagement and clinician input into planning and evaluating models of care.

Positions are available full‑time, part‑time, permanent or fixed‑term, with flexibility to support work–life balance. Opportunities also exist to contribute to teaching, training, and ongoing service development.

Essential Criteria

  • Eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • RANZCP Fellowship or equivalent, with eligibility for the Specialist Pathway (Substantially Comparable or Expedited)
  • Demonstrated experience in adult psychiatry or related subspecialties
