The Position

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and dedicated Anaesthetics Consultant to join a progressive and collaborative anaesthetic team. In this pivotal role, you will deliver specialist anaesthetic services across a range of surgical specialties, including emergency, trauma, obstetric, paediatric (over 24 months) and neuroanaesthesia. You will provide clinical leadership and patient-centred anaesthesia care while actively contributing to clinical governance, safety and quality initiatives and service development. A strong focus on education and mentorship is integral to the role, with responsibility for supervising and supporting anaesthetic registrars, principal house officers and junior doctors in line with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) training framework. You will also contribute to departmental research, innovation and performance improvement activities, promoting a culture of excellence in clinical practice and education.

Essential criteria

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) registrable with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent, with eligibility for specialist registration in Anaesthesia with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated experience in providing comprehensive anaesthetic services within a tertiary or major regional health service.
