The Lismore Base Hospital Emergency Department is a comprehensive level 5 Emergency Department and is the designated Trauma Centre for Northern NSW with on-site roof top helipad as part of our Retrieval Service. The Specialist Geriatrician provides care with the aim of improving the functioning of a person with multidimensional needs including intensive multidisciplinary resources and therapies in a supported inpatient or outpatient environment. This includes, but is not limited to: - Shared care of Neck of Femur patients with orthopaedics and consultation on other orthogeriatric patients - Care of patients who have dementia with responsive behaviours, tier 6-7 - Consultation on patients with delirium, complex dementia diagnosis which changes discharge plan, or complex capacity assessment - Providing advice to peripheral sites for urgent geriatric matters The Specialist will work 0800-1700hours each day Monday to Friday. Supervision and training of Junior Medical Officers is a requirement. We will provide basic accommodation/allowance, hire car and reimburse reasonable travel.
