The Lismore Base Hospital Emergency Department is a comprehensive level 5 Emergency Department and is the designated Trauma Centre for Northern NSW with on-site roof top helipad as part of our Retrieval Service. Lismore Base Hospital has a nine-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The Intensive Care Unit provides care for patients with life threatening or potentially life threatening conditions. Sometimes admission to ICU is planned, such as after major surgery; however, patients may be admitted to ICU at short notice depending on their medical condition. We are looking for an experienced Specialist who will cover the hospital, and provide after hours on call. The Specialist will work 0800-1800hours each day with on call overnight as rostered. They will be required to provide daily ward round, attend any emergencies and the ED. Participation in the on call roster is required. There may be scheduled clinics. Supervision and training of Junior Medical Officers is a requirement. Standard daily rate is $2500 per day (24hour period) all-inclusive as per NSW Health capped rates. We will provide basic accommodation/allowance, hire car and reimburse reasonable travel.
