The Position 

In this role you will deliver acute mental health care within a leading Adult Inpatient Unit. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide expert clinical management to adult consumers experiencing acute psychiatric conditions, while playing a key role in supporting recovery and continuity of care. 

Alongside direct clinical duties, you’ll actively contribute to the teaching and supervision of psychiatry registrars, junior doctors, and medical students — shaping the next generation of mental health professionals. Your involvement will also extend to research, evaluation, and service improvement, ensuring your clinical work is underpinned by evidence and innovation.

Central to its service is a specialised Adult Inpatient Unit, providing multidisciplinary, evidence-based care for adults aged 18–65 with acute psychiatric conditions, emphasising both stabilisation and reintegration through tailored rehabilitation programs. 

Supporting this, the Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC) offers rapid assessment and short-stay intervention for those in crisis, aiming to reduce hospital admissions through timely treatment and robust discharge planning.
