The Position 

This role places you at the heart of a specialised adolescent inpatient unit within a major metropolitan hospital in Sydney. Here, you’ll deliver expert clinical care to young people navigating complex mental health challenges, working in close partnership with their families and carers to support recovery and long-term wellbeing. 

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team that integrates individual, family, and group therapies — all with the goal of transitioning patients toward less intensive, community-based support as their needs evolve. 

This is more than a clinical post — it's a leadership role that allows you to shape care delivery, mentor emerging talent, and actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. 

The Hospital 

This 12-bed adolescent inpatient unit stands at the forefront of youth mental health care. Designed for young people aged 12 to 17 navigating acute psychological challenges, the unit offers short-term, high-intensity support in a safe, nurturing environment. 

Housed within a major metropolitan teaching hospital, the unit champions a collaborative, team-based model of care — uniting psychiatry, psychology, social work, and education specialists to deliver individualised treatment plans. A key feature is the onsite Learning Centre, helping patients stay connected to their education journey throughout their admission.
