The Position
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Anaesthetic Consultant to join a busy department. You will provide expert anaesthetic care across a range of surgical specialties, working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. The Hospital
This 125-bed district hospital has 3 operating theatres and an endoscopy room, handling a wide surgical caseload including general surgery (with colorectal), orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, plus smaller volumes of paediatric and adult ENT, dental, and ophthalmology cases. It also operates a smaller obstetric unit delivering 600–800 babies annually and a high-dependency unit managed by physicians and CMOs. The anaesthetic department comprises under 10 anaesthetists working various fractions, supported by 2 senior resident medical officers handling preadmission, labour ward analgesia, and acute pain. The department plans to become a training site for ICU, GP anaesthetist, and ANZCA trainees.
