The Position
An exciting opportunity is available for a Head of Department in General Medicine. This role calls for an experienced and enthusiastic Staff Specialist with a passion for holistic general medicine to lead and mentor the team. The position is split into 0.5 FTE management and 0.5 FTE clinical responsibilities, offering an ideal balance of leadership and hands-on patient care. As Head of Department, you will oversee operations, provide guidance, and contribute to patient care, teaching, and service development. You will also mentor trainees and IMGs, drive quality improvement, and engage in research, all while supporting the continued growth and evolution of the department.

Essential criteria
- Current general and specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (or eligibility to obtain this)
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in General and Acute Medicine.
- This role is open to Medical Practitioners who are International Medical Graduates (IMG) but you must have achieved a substantially comparable outcome in General Medicine from RACP
