You must have previous indigenous health experience. A full day of orientation and training will be provided on the first day including training on Communicare (software) if you require it. The clinic is open from Monday ? Friday 8.00am ? 4.30pm, doctors work until the last patient has been seen (sometimes 6pm).  No oncall or afterhours required. You will earn $1000 per day + GST. A two bedroom apartment in Darwin, a car and travel will be provided. Darwin is an area of DWS however please bear in mind the processing time required for Medicare and the DOHA to issue your provider number. The Health Service The comprehensive health service has a main clinic that offers specialist clinics, a separate women?s clinic, men?s clinic, a satellite clinic in Palmerston, an emotional and social wellbeing centre, a youth service, a chronic disease unit and a mobile/outreach unit. There are various programs and clinics to meet the needs of the community.  You will work across a number of clinics/unit or be based in one clinic, depending on the needs of the health service. All patients are initially screened by well trained Aboriginal Health Workers.  You will be working in multi-disciplinary teams and have the opportunity to learn a great deal from other 8 GP/SMOs, 18 AHWs and 6 RNs. 2 GP registrars also work in the health service but you are not required to supervise.  Over the last 12 months medical officers saw almost 12,000 patients.
