The Position
As a consultant psychiatrist in Addiction medicine, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality mental health services to individuals struggling with addiction. Your responsibilities include providing comprehensive assessments, diagnosing mental health conditions, providing guidance and support to other healthcare professionals, and contributing to research initiatives aimed at improving addiction treatment outcomes. Experience in Child/Youth psychiatry and/or rural/remote medicine is preferred however app specialty interests will be considered.

The hospital is the only major referral hospital in Far North Queensland, providing care for people from Cape York and the Torres Strait. The hospital covers a large geographic area and provides a wide range of primary care, acute and specialist services. The health service plays an integral part in providing high-quality care to the local community.

Essential Criteria
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry or equivalent. Candidates nearing completion of FRANZCP may also apply.
