The INZ Health Project is implementing a number of initiatives including aligning with Australia?s Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) to jointly manage a shared panel physician network offshore, and developing and implementing an electronic immigration health processing platform. As part of these initiatives INZ will be establishing a panel physician network in the South Pacific (as the principal lead in a jointly managed offshore network with DIBP), and within New Zealand. These initiatives require new clinical support functions, including training, auditing and quality assurance. The Principal Medical Advisor?s initial focus will be on supporting the establishment of an updated INZ health screening framework and practice. The focus of the role will then transition to ongoing support of this framework, e.g. clinical training and auditing, and core immigration health activities such as ongoing reviews of health?related policy and practice, and collaboration with health and immigration stakeholders (in New Zealand and offshore). == The Position == will therefore have both an advisory and operational clinical support focus. To be successful in this role, you will have: - the medical knowledge to represent INZ when engaging with key international stakeholders and with the New Zealand health sector - the clinical knowledge to provide advice within INZ - the medical registration and skills to be capable of performing quality assurance tasks and to review assessments of applicants? health - strong relationship management skills, and - the ability to recognise opportunities for ongoing improvement to act upon.
