The Position
This role is dedicated to delivering high-quality specialist orthopaedic care within the region Hospital and Health Service, supervise junior staff, and ensure safety and adherence to professional standards. Manage a diverse workload, including clinical duties, administrative tasks, and after-hours on-call responsibilities. Promote professional development, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Engage in outreach to rural facilities and support educational programs for medical students.
The Hospital
This is a 236-bed regional hospital serving 10 rural hospitals and multi-purpose health facilities. It is embarking on an exciting period of growth with a $250 million redevelopment to provide an additional 112 inpatient beds and an expansion of outpatient and support services. Clinicians working at the hospital enjoy a challenging and rewarding clinical case mix that includes busy inpatient and outpatient general medicine, paediatrics, surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics & gynaecology, and mental health services. These core inpatient services are well integrated with active emergency medicine, anaesthetic, and intensive care departments, supported by a wide range of allied health services.

Essential Criteria
Mandatory possession of a qualification from a registered tertiary institution and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practising certificate is essential.
Registration with the Medical Board of Australia with Specialist recognition, and
Fellowship or eligibility for Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) is highly desirable.
