You will have the opportunity to grow and develop the existing service as the level of acuity grows hospital wide.  You will work alongside a Director and be supported by a Registrar and Resident and Nursing team. 50% of the nursing team are critical care qualified and the Unit aims to increase this, with the Rural Critical Care Course via the University of Melbourne. To be successful in this role you will be a strong team player and will encourage collaboration and collegiate relationships across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the best possible service is delivered.  The Hospital The health service provides acute care in relation to specialised medicine and surgery, intensive care and emergency services, children?s services, maternity services, and mental health services. Services are also provided in rehabilitation, palliative care, and aged care. The hospital you will work in is a large, modern, 280-bed primary acute and extended care facility with four theatres, in-house MRI and CT services and a state-of-the-art clinical skills laboratory. The ICU has 10 physical beds, with 9 available and a budget of 8 beds of varying configuration. Throughput is approximately 750pa, with occupancy averaging at 6 beds.  This is an exciting time to join this service as it moves towards being one of the largest regional health services just outside Melbourne.  == The Location == Located a leisurely two hour drive from Melbourne, you'll be living in a city with all the facilities you'd expect from a fast-growing area.
