=The Position= As an Emergency Medicine Specialist, you will be dedicated to bringing the highest standards to the department and its patients as you find yourself enjoying a rewarding career. With your own professional development being supported, you in turn will provide assistance to registrars, resident medical officers, interns and students alike. An interest in public and Indigenous Health would be well suited to this role as well as the flexibility to commit to out of ordinary hours and an on call roster. In return you will receive a very generous salary package and a range of benefits, including accommodation. In a full-time position, you will work on an 8-on, 6-off roster, while part-timers can work 8-on and 20-off. These roles accomodate FIFO arrangements with nearly all staff attending work from other locations. =The Hospital= This Level 4 hospital has a total of 80 beds and offers primary, secondary and community health services in addition to specialist services such as anaesthetics, paediatrics, psychiatry, surgery and obstetrics & gynaecology. The hospital also hosts a range of clinics in speciality and sub-specialty services. The Royal Flying Doctor Service base provides rural retrievals and transfers and you will experience a very interesting patient load involving basically anything that Emergency Medicine provides. Further, you will be welcomed by a great team and work climate with FACEMs and Rural Generalists keen to socialise in this relaxed and picturesque town. =The Location= Considered by many as the capital of northwest Queensland, located just 200 kilometres from the Northern Territory border this town brings out the adventurous spirit in everyone. With ample places to fish, camp, four wheel drive or enjoy an outback sunset, there is also a great range of shopping facilities including local markets. Over 23,000 people enjoy living in this modern community and it is an ideal location for the single professional or young couple. Over half the population is under the age of 35 years old and the majority of employees at the hospital have reported that their social life increased exponentially when they moved to the town. =Essential Criteria= To be successful in applying for this position you must hold FACEM and Specialist registration with AHPRA. Alternatively, you will have Specialist experience from a comparable healthcare country and be eligible for Specialist registration, having undergone assessment that allows progression to a Fellowship. =To work in a unique location where you can make a real difference to the community, contact Emma Gough today for further details.=
