You will also contribute to the on call requirements and provide clinical leadership and promote clinical excellence by providing training opportunities for registrars, junior medical officers and medical students, giving you the perfect opportunity to share your skills and experience.   You will be involved in clinical governance and conduct, supervise and encourage research, academic teaching and participation in quality and safety activities. Furthermore you will support the Clinical Director in the overall management and leadership of the department. This is a varied, flexible and rewarding role.   The Hospital The hospital is a modern 600 + bed facility that serves a population of half a million. It provides trauma services, most major medical and surgical sub-specialty services, and is the principal teaching hospital of the ANU Medical School. There are strong links with the pre-hospital and retrieval medical services and the hospital is currently undergoing an expansion to extend the facility to over 1000 beds; a new sub-acute hospital will be established and a range of rehabilitation and aged care inpatient and community based services will be provided from the facility.   There is an active Research program with facility to fund further research into Paediatric Health and Disease, as well as established collaborations with staff at the hospital, the ANU, and other centres.   == The Location == Home to a population of 367,000, this is one of the few planned cities in Australia - a city situated in the midst of flourishing parkland, with stunning views all year round.
