The Paediatrician will provide routine and emergency paediatric, neonatal and perinatal care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Additional duties will include providing a consultative service to other senior medical staff and emergency department medical staff and also engaging in the training and supervision of medical and nursing staff as required. There is the opportunity for a co-appointment with the local University. The Hospital This appointment is based in a fully integrated facility with 289 beds located less than two hours from Melbourne. The hospital provides emergency care, elective surgery, maternity, aged care, rehabilitation, pharmacy and mental health services both at the hospital and sites across the Gippsland region. It is also a teaching hospital that is closely affiliated with the local University and actively participates in undergraduate teaching. Paediatric services include 10 inpatient beds and a six cot Level 4 Special Care Nursery (including the provision of CPAP). == The Location == The hospital is situated in a city known for its wide, tree lined streets, attractive gardens and thriving commercial centre.
