You will ensure that high quality and contemporary services are integrated within the clinical services framework of the hospital. The department consists of a deputy director, 8 staff specialists and 2 VMO?s. You will be required to participate in the 1:10 on call roster.  The Hospital The hospital is a modern regional acute care facility with approximately 227 beds. As the regional referral centre for emergency services, the facility sees an approximate 45,000 ED presentations per year and a total of 22,000 admissions. 2012 saw the first stages of a major redevelopment of the facility including the completion of new phlebotomy, geriatric and rehabilitation services and expansion on medical imaging, emergency department and acute assessment and paediatric units, together with the consolidation of a number of outlying services into the main hospital complex. These improvements will increase the hospital?s overall capacity and completion of all works is planned for early 2014.  The Operating Theatre Suite comprises four theatres (soon to be six) and one procedure room (soon to be two) which offer a range of surgical services. CAT and MRI suites are on site and an oncology suite is included in the redevelopment.  == The Location == You will live in a lovely coastal town experiencing over 300 sunny days a year.
