Within this role, you will provide leadership within the specialty that will have funding for approximately 2.7 FTEs, 4 registrars and 1.5 RMOs, this can all be negotiated and defined by you. Ideally the role is 0.8 FTE, however, a minimum commitment from 0.6 will be considered. As Head of Otolaryngology (ENT) you will provide clinical leadership to ensure personalised, safe, effective and timely patient care, is delivered across the service. It is expected you will motivate and mentor all levels of the clinical teams, facilitating multidisciplinary coordination of patient care and promoting education and research. == The Position == will have an allocated 20% for non-clinical time, as well as protected sessions for Head of Specialty duties. Previous head of department experience is not essential however you must possess natural leadership skills and excellent communication to lead a new department. You will receive optimal support to be successful in this role. Your peers and colleagues in the department will welcome you and you will receive significant support from the Service Co-Directors. ==The Hospital== The 783-bed hospital will rank among the best in Australia and will include the 140-bed State rehabilitation service, a 30-bed purpose-built mental health unit and the State burns service. This will be the major tertiary hospital in the south metropolitan area and will meet the growing needs of communities south of Perth and across the State. As well as delivering comprehensive clinical services, the hospital will be a leader in research and education. In addition, the service will have the most advanced medical equipment and state-of-the-art information and communications technology. The hospital has been designed to have a healing and therapeutic effect on patients and 83 per cent of patient rooms are single occupancy, offering increased comfort and privacy. ==== The Location ==== As Australia?s sunniest capital city, Perth embraces a relaxed outdoor lifestyle.
