Pharmacy on site and the base hospital is located right across the road. This is a large clinical team made up of 13 doctors with support from ten nurses, eight receptionists, four administration staff and one practice manager. The premises are set up in a unique way with 13 consulting rooms on the GP side of the building; two of them nurse consulting rooms. The other side of the building is made up of a walk-in Accident and Medical style clinic that has seven rooms and a specialist area which houses the skin clinic?s four rooms and two theatres. Practice opening hours are 8am ? 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am-12pm Saturday. On Saturdays the facility is a walk-in clinic so only one doctor, one nurse and one receptionist are required. Your participation in this roster is negotiable.  No on call is required and the clinic is located five minutes from the town centre, five minutes from the beach, and only half an hour to the mountains so you can do one of many things on your down time! The clinic is currently in the process of becoming an integrated family health centre and you are encouraged to pursue your special interest. To assist with this you be provided with nursing support and one week study leave in addition to your four weeks annual leave. It is also noted for being a coastal city with a mountain within 30 minutes drive, where residents and visitors to New Plymouth can snowboard, ski, water ski and surf all in the same day! == Essential Criteria == In order to be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a GP, you must have worked at least 36 months of the past 48 months in a comparable health system or you will need to hold suitable postgraduate qualifications and have worked at least 24 months of the past 36 months in a comparable health system.
