Provide specialised psychiatric services to adults or older persons or children and adolescents and their families in a variety of settings and complete outcomes measures as necessary. 2. Teach and supervise psychiatry trainees and medical students. 3. Liaise and collaborate with medical practitioner, voluntary and government agencies concerned with care of adults with mental health problems. 4. Provide advice to ACT Health on matters related to Adult Psychiatry or Old Age Psychiatry or Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. 5. Contribute to the clinical oversight of multi-disciplinary teams and in particular: a. Provide expert opinion and consultation on case work; b.In liaison with team members develop, implement and maintain prevention and treatment programs. 6. Participation in the after hours on-call roster as required. 7. Participate in clinical governance activities and as a medical representative on divisional meetings as required. 8. Undertake other duties as required by the Director of Clinical Services, MHACT. 9. Provide leadership and promote a commitment to high quality customer service principles, practices and attributes. 10. SELECTION CRITERIA QUALIFICATIONS/ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: ? Registered or eligible for registration as a medical practitioner in the Australian Capital Territory. ? Possession of a higher medical qualification as provided for in the ACT Health Medical Staff Certified Agreement 2005-2006. ? Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. IMPORTANT: 1. Experience in the provision of integrated acute mental health care across inpatient, community and other applicable settings. 2. Demonstrated commitment to the maintenance and further development of skills applicable to the area of specialisation, including involvement in further education and quality assurance activities. 3. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills. 4. Ability to manage people, including the ability to work as part of a team, provide leadership to subordinate staff and work across multi-disciplinary issues. 5. A strong commitment to working with consumers, carers, and key community stakeholders including GPs and the principles of quality customer service. 6. A strong commitment to the importance and provision of teaching at all levels, including medical, nursing, scientific and allied health professional staff, both postgraduate and undergraduate. 6.
