=The Position= As a Principal House Officer or Registrar, you will provide medical services to the Forensic and Secure Services including a High Security Inpatient Service, Prison Mental Health Service, Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit or Extended Forensic Treatment and Rehabilitation Unit. This role is suitable for Stage 2 and 3 Training and Advanced Training in Forensic Psychiatry with RANZCP. You will be well supported, working under the supervision of Consultant Psychiatrists to provide evidence-based, efficient, effective, and equitable care within the public health setting. You will provide daily mental health assessment and management to consumers in inpatient, outpatient and emergency care settings, and arrange investigations and consultation from specialist and medical services where appropriate. =The Service= This major acute hospital has over 350 beds and offers services in all major health specialities, including anaesthetics, emergency, medicine, surgery, intensive and coronary care, orthopaedics, obstetrics, paediatrics, palliative care, rehabilitation and mental health along with a full range of allied health services. It has a major teaching role, providing both undergraduate and postgraduate clinical education and training. =The Location= Being on the outskirts of a major city, and only a couple of hours drive from South Queensland’s best beaches, this is an ideal location to cater for those looking for peace and tranquillity and also city life and the beaches. You will have completed a minimum of two years postgraduate experience and a full term in Psychiatry (10 weeks).
