You will have exposure across the entire discipline of general anaesthetics which will ensure a great case mix - the Hospital will also consider those with special interests as well as applicants in a full or part time capacity. Due to the number of people within the team there is a well shared on call arrangement that is certainly not onerous, giving you more free time to explore the region.   The Hospital Your place of work will be an historic facility that was first established in 1914 and since has undergone a major redevelopment with funding in excess of $50 million to produce a new emergency department, maternity unit and special care nursery. Providing acute care services to a population of over 200,000 residents, the renewed Hospital is a 174 bed facility that takes in greater than 37,000 presentations at the emergency department per annum.   == The Location == With a comparably young population in comparison to the greater Queensland region and Australia as a whole, this region offers a great deal of activities and is considered to be the Southern gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Take a boat trip and go fishing, snorkelling, or scuba diving amongst the natural and artificial ships wrecks that this great city provides. For accomodation you can expect to spend $290,000AUD to $325,000AUD on a unit and a house respectively alternatively rentals will set you back between $115AUD and $250AUD per week for a unit and house respectively. Schooling is in abundance here with 5 early childhood education centres, 10 primary schools, 3 public secondary schools and 2 private secondary schools.
