There are currently 7 consultants including a VMO and Clinical Director and strong junior support. On an annual basis this hospital provides an average of 2500 births. There are teaching and research opportunities with an on call of 1:5. The Hospital This hospital and health service is one of the largest in Queensland, situated in the south east. All hospitals under the health service are renowned for their high excellence in health care, teaching and research. You will be based in a 143 bed secondary teaching hospital that provides services in a variety of sub specialities including cardiology, emergency medicine, general medicine, general surgery, gynaecology, obstetrics, orthopaedics, paediatrics, rehabilitation and renal dialysis. This is a great opportunity for you to have a varied workload and experience in a number of hospitals within the health service. == The Location == You will be living in one of Australia?s most diverse locations, ideally situated near the Gold Coast and only 26km southeast of Brisbane. The town is protected from the Pacific Ocean by a chain of three sand islands. The area is a water playground for the local marine life. You will get the opportunity to see bottlenose dolphins, dugongs, loggerhead turtles, migratory birds and humpback whales from July to October. This allows you to spend your spare time on uncrowded beaches whilst taking in the spectacular scenery.
