You will also contribute to the on call roster 1:6. Though primarily based at a tertiary teaching hospital, the department offers a regional service.   You will have the opportunity to contribute to a number of local research activities as well as several international multicentre clinical trials. Ideally you will have a special interest in Multiple Sclerosis and you will join an established clinical and academic unit to further develop and expand the service. There is also the opportunity for a private appointment alongside this role.   Additionally, you will participate in the training of junior medical staff and contribute to the teaching program of the Australian National University (ANU) Medical School. The successful candidate may also be offered a conjoint appointment in the ANU at an academic level commensurate with the applicant?s qualifications and experience.   The Hospital The hospital is a modern 600 + bed facility that serves a population of half a million. It provides trauma services, most major medical and surgical sub-specialty services, and is the principal teaching hospital of the ANU Medical School. There are strong links with the pre-hospital and retrieval medical services and the hospital is currently undergoing an expansion to extend the facility to over 1000 beds.   == The Location == Home to a population of 367,000, this is one of the few planned cities in Australia - a city situated in the midst of flourishing parkland, with stunning views all year round.
